From Students to Students!
Mentoring is a collaboration – a caring, sharing, and encouraging relationship with a focus on the enhancement of the mentee’s growth and university experience. For mentees, there is immense value in forging a close, ongoing, and evolving relationship with a mentor in their field of study. It can increase compensation and greater career opportunities. Or more abstract, can build confidence through awareness about the vernacular and traditions of the profession.
Mentoring involves pairing up younger students with an older peer, who is able to give their insight and advice on WMU related matters, and help students acclimate to life in Wroclaw. In general, a mentor should aim to build relationships, help younger peers develop resilience and act as a positive role model, rather than to develop specific academic skills or knowledge.
